Payer moins d'impôts pour les nuls (2019), R. Matthieu

As I am starting to pay taxes, I am looking for ways to optimize my budget and only pay what I actually owe, by law. This book is a great introduction. It stays quite basic but gives an overview of different things to look into, depending on the reader’s lifestyle.

I would recommend this book if, like me, you know very little about the French tax system, if you’re looking to diminish your taxable income or if you want to invest. If you are familiar with it already, specialized resources will be more useful to you.

If you have income less than 30.000 € per year and don’t invest, you probably can’t optimize much — in that case, double checking the taxes you are asked to pay as you receive them is most likely good enough.
